I would highly recommend Ethan Zelizer as an attorney. I was recently let go wrongfully by my employer and was looking for legal advice so I called HR Counsel. I was contacted promptly and greeted with empathy and professionalism.
Ethan was very thorough and honest with me regarding my situation and finding any and all possible solutions to my legal concerns. I appreciated how compassionate he was in educating me on my options and how the law dictates what was and was not a possibility while being straightforward, optimistic, and most importantly honest about my odds.
Though my case is not something I can legally pursue despite the unethical actions of my previous employer, Ethan went out of his way to go above and beyond analyzing my case. I would recommend him and his practice tenfold to anyone looking for an employment and labor law attorney.

Ethan represented me approximately 4 months ago after my former employer threatened to sue me and my new employer for alleged violations of a noncompete agreement and trade secret issues. Ethan is an excellent negotiator and by far the best lawyer I have ever worked with. He was very kind, but at the same time got right to the heart of the key issues. He was very professional while working with me, my new employer, and the other party's attorney. Ethan is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to restrictive covenants and non-compete law. He was quick to learn the intricacies of my business -- a business not commonly understood outside the biotech/investment industry. He quickly gained the confidence and trust of my new employer as well. Ethan is also relentless. He wouldn't let me or my new company settle when a relatively easy settlement was available. He expressed his concerns about the non monetary and competitive consequences of the would-be settlement when we were punch drunk and ready to move on. He was resolute on what he believed was a fair outcome and he propped me up when I was getting fatigued by the process. Moreover, he was always thinking about how to better my position, my company's position, and my position within my new company. I was surprised at the level of effort and concern Ethan exhibited about my career and my relationship with my new employer. He could have simply focused on the conflict with my previous employer. However, ethan wanted to make Sure my current employer understood that I had not violated my old agreement, the law, or my previous employer's trust. He worked hard to build a strong relationship with my current employer that reflected well on me, my judgment, my abilities, and my work ethic. Ethan was the reason my old employer stood down and ultimately agreed to a universal settlement agreement. That agreement ultimately bettered my position and that of my new Company while simultaneously offering some assurances to my old company (which came easily and without a cost to us). Perhaps it's not all that surprising that my current employer hired Ethan to assist it with a separate matter after my suit had concluded. Ethan is that type of guy; imminently likeable, fair, trustworthy and relentless in his advocacy for his client. I am very happy with the final outcome of our case, the professional relationship we developed, and the friendship that resulted from Ethan's top notch representation.

Ethan was professional, responsive, and understanding of my legal issues. Ethan resolved my issues promptly and efficiently, which I very much appreciated. Being a lawyer myself, I understand how important it is to find a lawyer who has both fantastic legal skills and empathy- Ethan has both. Ethan is a very thorough and competent professional. I gave notice to my company that I was leaving for a competitor and two days before my last day, the Company decided to take issue with where I was going. They tried to have me sign various documents before I left that would encumber my ability to work. They claimed that I had already signed documents years ago but they could not produce them to me. Ethan immediately got involved and in a professional manner, he worked with the Company's attorney to work out an exit plan. He also spoke with my new employer to make sure that they knew what was going on and that the matter was being handled. Most importantly, he made sure that both companies were comfortable with my actions and knew that I acted with integrity. I felt he always had my best interest in mind. It is my privilege to recommend Ethan Zelizer, a phenomenal lawyer, who delivered a good result. Tremendous value. He practices the best client service methods. 5 stars.

If you're like me, you're reading the 100% five-star reviews and you're skeptical. Something has to be wrong. I'm here to tell you that Ethan really is as good as it gets. I was in a dispute after leaving my high-level position in a small company. The situation was very complex and a bit nasty. There were several competing interests, lots of drama, and different leverage points. Ethan was a master at navigating the law - but I was even more impressed with his negotiating prowess. He quickly identified the various stakeholders and their leverage points and isolated the best move forward. Ethan is extremely savvy and persuasive. He's an aggressive advocate for his clients and will fight for them. I felt good having Ethan on my side. I consulted some other lawyers regarding the same issues, and Ethan blew them all away. Would give 6 stars if I could.

I met Ethan while defending a lawsuit brought against my company from a former employee that he was representing. His knowledge of employment law resulted in our losing the first employment case brought against us in our company's history. Based on that experience, I hired Ethan to represent my wife and I when we needed an employment law expert. Ethan turned out to be responsive, extremely knowledgeable about employment law and kept me in the loop every step of the way. He was a great negotiator and provided the guidance I needed that resulted in a positive outcome. I was also impressed with his ability to work with me as a partner. He took my input and used it toward helping the situation. He is a great listener who uses good information to his advantage. I felt very confident I was in good hands. Ethan is an exceptional advisor and legal strategist, and he is an amazing negotiator. He clearly knows what he is doing and is a capable attorney. He is honest and straightforward and easy to work with. Ethan developed a full understanding of my case and built a strong argument based on his deep knowledge of the law. He kept me informed and stood by my side throughout the whole process. Even though my case was a smaller one, it was important to him and he was a forceful advocate. I had a very positive experience with Ethan. I am a LGBT executive-level employee that was unceremoniously terminated in violation of my employment contract with a large pharmaceutical company. The company had offered me a serious package but it was nothing in comparison to what I would have earned if they honored our agreement. In addition to the breach of contract issues, there were comments made by my direct superior about my partner and our "lifestyle." It was a multi-faceted dispute that I was about to walk away from (and sign the deal presented).I am so happy that I talked to Ethan first. Ethan met with me within a day of me contacting him and his one-hour consultation turned into three hours (although he stuck to his consultation fee of one hour, which I appreciated). Ethan was incredibly clued-in to my field and executive compensation trends generally. He is also an employment law professor and is about as knowledgeable about employment laws and protections as you could ever hope for. I was working with Ethan while the federal appellate court for IL/WI was considering whether Title VII discrimination law covered LGBT employees. Ethan walked me through the state of the law at the time I met him: no explicit federal protection, clear IL protection, arguments for federal protection that were working through the courts, and an EEOC guidance stating that Title VII should cover LGBT. Ethan was courageous enough to take that guidance and run with it, convincing my former employer and our agreed-upon mediator of why the law would support us. The entire mediation was a revelation. Soon after we concluded my representation, the appellate court found differently and all but sank the federal argument in our jurisdiction. Ethan was keenly aware of that case, where it was in the system, and worked tirelessly to get our matter rolling, argued and resolved before the hammer fell. It was really amazing to watch him work. Bottom-line: Ethan gave me realistic and unbiased advice (not just advice that would get him business) and it seemed like he was really considering my best interests. He knows about many different aspects of employment and business law which came in useful at various times during my case. He was always available and when sudden developments happened he and his staff were super responsive and jumped into action. I highly recommend him.
